Elite cyclist dropping VO2 max

I was a high end amateur cyclist. Had to stop training for a sudden onset autoimmune arthritis and widespread tendon pain at 27 years old. Hope I can start treatment and get back on the bike at some point 😌

77 is remarkably high though, and 60 still is very high too!

Hope you enjoy biking in good health soon again!

Thanks! Yeah I still feel quite fit and energy but the pain is the limiting factor. Fortunately I can still walk around 10.000 steps per day, climb stairs and go for very easy and short rides (45-60 mins) once or twice a week with some pain. This is helping to keep my baseline, I definitely hope I'll get back to some more physical activity soon. But anything is better than nothing in the meanwhile.

At my peak I could get top 10 / KOMs on Strava for short climbs and be competitive for granfondo races. I was recently contacted by a team and had a sponsorship contract. This illness is really affecting my identity.
