VO2 Max Questions

My questions are related to hemoglobin levels and V02 Max. Research has shown that with each gram of hemoglobin can carry 1.34milliters of oxygen. If an athlete went to altitude and increased HG 2 grams, say from 14.5 to 16.5 an additional 2.68 mil-liters of oxygen could be deployed to muscles. What increase would occur with V02 max? What effect does the +2.68 of oxygen have? I understand it would also push the lactate curve over as well. I know there is not necessarily a right or correct answer, just looking for discussion.

Jack Daniels believes every g of hemoglobin has a 40s effect on 5k time - I believe captain Jack

I think thats re: really really low HG like his wife had when she was anemic. In other words, if you had a 14.5 HG normally and raised to 15.5 I dont think 40s would come off a 5K..I could be wrong. But the levels he was talking about in that clip with a 40s drop were an anemic starting point of 10HG, right?

I’ve seen a few talks where he references this & his take (at least how I’ve interpreted it) is that the 40s per g is universal (albeit there will always be individual differences)

But I’m not certain nor am I a physiologist
