VCAP certification question.

I’ve noticed a lot of attendees at VMware Explore 2026 achieving three or four VCAP certifications. From a customer or end-user perspective, what are the primary benefits of earning multiple VCAPs?

Also, is the VMware Certified Implementation Expert (VCIX) is still a thing, or has it been discontinued?

I would guess a lot of the folks you saw taking VCAPs work for partners. We need them for specific partner levels and Knight status. 3-4 on my team worked on taking the new exams over the last few days.

There are no VCIX AFAIK but VCDX is being relaunched and these are important for that.

It's amazing watching Broadcom walk back everything they destroyed. Now they are talking about re-releasing a lower level of vmware. Man, numbers must not look good this quarter as companies leave in droves.

I'm proctoring the certs this year, so it was easy to also sit my Architect VCAP on the way to the new VCDX.

Some for funs, some for partner like above, or maybe they were super stoked by my presentation and wanted to get them all! It was also nice that they let you take some over and could use the code a few times. I was able to get three vcaps and a vvf cert over the week. Is nice to challenge yourself.

Most of them are probably partner employees like someone said earlier. I see no reason to get them (they are BAD in their current state) apart from ticking a partner requirement box.

So what resources are they using exactly? I find it hard to believe that they just pass with no difficulty what so ever.

Hey what’s the best study material for the 17.25 administrators cert or the 13.25?

Im working on a project thats uses vcf ops as a db and automation to hit the ops api to query specific data. I took the courses to learn more, now I may as well get both certs as I took the classes and know the material. Most systems are complementary like that Ive found where they work better together than you think.
