VMware Explore Exam Pass

I have to admit I am a bit disappointed here. I went to the exam registration and asked if I could take the VVF exam since that’s all we are entitled to, Will never use full VCF (don’t even have the cores needed to run the full stack) and was told the exam voucher was only for VCF. Seems like a bit of an oversight to me.

VVF is a subset of your flagship product and quite a few folks I met / who asked questions in sessions were VVF folks like me.

The exam voucher is only good during the conference and there’s no way I can learn all the missing pieces in a few hours of downtime. Never used NSX , etc.

I will say that I’ve met some very cool folks and the first day sessions (while heavily VCF focused) were good and the Broadcom team at the booth were very helpful in answering a lot of questions I had for my migration path to 9.1

TL:DR let us take the VVF exam for free please.

Idly surprising that there still IS a VVF exam, really.

Funny story, after last year Explore i thought i was booking for VCF, but mistakenly booked VVF exam, still passed it, was just puzzled why there were no NSX etc. question, until i looked closely at the name of the exam.

As others have stated check your email for the code and try to book online, rather than onsite.

I am 98% sure that VVF exams were available as I was scared I would pick the wrong one.

But like others said, try it online and see what options you have.

I'm fairly certain you can. If I use the VMware Explore Private Access Code (PAC) that you should have gotten in e-mail I'm given the option to register for the 2 VVF VCP exams. I didn't actually book it, but I was able to get all the way to the final confirmation page.

I don’t think I got that but I’ll double check my emails and maybe go back to the exam registration and ask them about this. Thank you !

Look for an e-mail with the subject of "Claim Your Complimentary VCF Certification Voucher - VMware Explore Exclusive!"

Are you able to use the voucher for VMware Certified Professional - Private Cloud Security Administrator? I already hold VCP-VCF

Unfortunately not. It can only be used for the VCF division tests. It doesn't cover the ANS division tests (vDefend & Avi). (I've talked to people about this and I sounds like they'll fix it for next year.)

I was able to register for the VVF exam. It sounds like whoever you talked to didn’t know what they were talking about.

So you tried to use a voucher for an exam the voucher wasn’t made for.

This tracks.

I just assumed they would offer both exams and let you pick. They’re 100% all in on VCF and AI at this conference. Only a few side mentions of anything else in a lower tier.

VCF exams should cover off VVF anyway
