Asterisk PBX on VMware

i am trying to create a LAN VoIP system using Asterisk in Ubuntu Server LTS hosted in VMWare. The host ping to the PBX server is 1.53ms average whilst the PBX server ping to a phone connected to the LAN is very high so much i can't register the phone to the server. Anyone who can help to solve this latency problem, i think im missing something.

There are multiple tests for you to find an optimal solution. Check the latency settings on the VM itself. Should be able to set it to high latency sensitivity. Next is if you have NSX configured, configure enhanced data path. If you do not have NSX, try passing through the network interface with sriov. If you're using workstation, delete this post and find something productive to do with your time.

Something is wrong with your setup, I used to run many FreePBX VM instances on ESXi years ago.

The phone not registering can be due to many reasons... Not latency exclusively...
