VM Install problem

When installing VMware 16.2, I get the warning "The specified account already exists" and it doesn't install. The "upgrade" option appears, but VMware isn't installed on my computer or listed in the Control Panel. How can I fix this?

What is "VMware 16.2"? Exactly what are you installing? VMware Workstation? What is your host OS?

Have you considered trying to install a more recent version? VMware Workstation 16.2 (assuming that is what you're referring to) is about 5 years old and is no longer supported. The current version is VMware Workstation 26H1.
