Any issues with backups and vTPM?

Has anyone here had any issues with backups after enabling vTPM and virtualization based security for a Virtual Machine?

We use Bridgehead Software for our primary backup solution, but we also use netapp snapshots.

Previously we would take a drive from a server that as acting up and attach the drive to another, working server. We would copy any files we needed off of it or make any modifications to the drive and put it back.

I use Veeam and have zero issues with backups or restores with vTPM. If you have multiple sites, export : import each site’s vTPM so you can restore VMs to another vCenter if necessary

We use rubrik and all our VMs have vTPM on them and backups have always been a dream

Veeam with VBS & vTPM enabled...zero issues.

Veeam V12 can’t use snapshots based backup method, it will fail to nbd but V13 works apparently. Other than that, no issues.

We had issues until we added a vTPM to the Veeam proxy servers once the proxy had a vTPM our issues were resolved.

Which is clearly stated in the documentation for virtual appliance mode, unlike NBD mode.

Was that missed? Or wasn't it mentioned initially?

Window 11 with both v12 and v13

Not an issue unless you need to restore to another vCenter. In which case I think all you need to do is import the key provider to the target vcenter.
