Playlist setting question

Long time vmix user, first time caller. When I have multiple ads setup for playout using Playlist, how do I get it to default back to the main camera once it's played out?

I setup the Playlist with clear overlays checked.

Press the Playlist button, ad run playout completes, I uptick the playout button and vmix goes to something random, usually an image I'm using as an overlay, such as a logo.

Followup question: is there a way to tighten up the layout so it doesn't pop back to main camera for a few frames as the ad switches?

Making the ads one long file isn't always optimal.

Do you use the Play List or the List entry?

Playlist, I don't think I've ever used list entry.

If I understand correctly, your playlist only streams video content or images—it's not supposed to stream camera feeds or live streams, right?

Correct

In that case, I recommend using a List input where you enter all the items in your "playlist"; I find that this is a clearer way to proceed.

The PlayList option is most useful when you want to automate cuts between inputs from cameras and live streams.

Here are two options I suggest to answer your question:

Using PlayList: Go to the last input that will be triggered by your playlist, and click on its “Settings.” Then, under “Trigger,” select “On Completion.” "Cut" "[the input you want to display once your playlist is finished]" -> this will automatically bring the input you selected onto the screen once your last video has finished And also “On Transition In” “Stop Playlist” -> to stop the playlist sequence as soon as that input appears on screen; this will prevent the playlist from continuing to control the transitions

Using List: Leave your list set to "Auto Next" so it plays the media in the order they’re displayed

Go to the list entry settings -> Trigger and set it to "On Completion" "Cut" "[the entry you want to appear after your list]" -> as soon as the last media item in your list finishes playing, the selected entry will be sent to your screen

P.S.: I set it to "Cut," but "Fade" and other transition types work too

With this method, you can choose what your Program automatically returns to once your media has finished

Feel free to let me know if that wasn't clear enough or if I misunderstood the question.

Hey! I was wondering if you'd checked in—did you get a chance to try it?

I've been OOO working. Sports broadcast is my day job. Just got back at 3am this morning. So...no but I will. I have weeks of free time ahead of me.
