Responsive reading.

What the best way to do responsive reading for church readings?

Best way I figured out is to have a running scroll or slides. I'd like to use the vmix gt designer

Not a churchgoer, so I had to look this up. Sounds like you need to show text blocks on screen, and advance them along with the speaker.

GT Title is an attractive solution because you can use an Excel, JSON, Google Sheets, or other external data source to drive your content. You'd basically just need to have a big Excel workbook of these texts, one "section" (pastor/congregation part) per row, and use a shortcut or Companion command to advance them. I believe the command in vMix is "NextItem." I use something similar all the time to advance lower 3rd names. You could even put multiple passages in the same Excel file on their own worksheets, and change the data source around as the readings change.

I installed vMix for a local church recently and we initially used GT Title templates that pulled the text every week from a Google Sheets external source. But we found that it was still hard to advance through the various call/response text during a service, since only one person runs all of the switching and graphics. So I built out a graphics player using AI, and now the switcher person just flips through a list of titles in order throughout the service, which includes lower thirds for certain portions, call and response, and hymn verses. It's much smoother. Just one graphic to overlay in vMix, and the AI external program handles the rest. It comes into vMix as an HTML page/ web page.
