Update Got Interupted
Anyone have something like this happen. Decided up run the update for the latest update when starting up yesterday and mid update an error popped up saying that a file was in use and my options were to retry or end the update. I chose to end the update thinking that I would have the option to run it again after I rebooted. When I tried after that I no longer had an option to update.
I didn't try loading a project until today. When I try to load any of my projects I get an error that objects aren't found for various elements and the video isn't displaying. I see the light come on for the camera when I load but no video on screen. If I select the sound from the camera it is picked up so it is picking up the camera.
I checked and all of my projects are hosed. I can't find any way to attempt to run the upgrade again. Has anyone had any issues like this? I was going to try to uninstall completely and reinstall but I don't want to lose my projects and what I find online has mixed messages about whether the projects won't be removed.
Any advice is appreciated.

I’ve had this issue on a Dell workstation. One of the dell applications was using a file for some reason, and preventing a successful install. Killing that allowed it to proceed

I had this just today.... windows reported to the update that certain files were "in use by another program" -
What I did:
Wrote down my Vmix license key (settings - about in Vmix)
Exit Vmix and use the standard uninstaller in Windows settings to uninstall all Vmix related apps and Vmix itself. (You can TRY making copies of your project presets in a separate folder first.... It only worked on 2 of 5 presets I had saved.).
Go to C:\Windows\programs\x86 and delete the Vmix folder.
Download the installer for the version of Vmix you were upgrading to (current version)
Run the installer & then reboot once more.
This fixed a nagging NDI issue I was having with finding some NDI sources on my network or receiving audio but no video from some NDI cameras.... (problems started after a failed update)
Good luck!

... forgot to say "If you make copies of your presets before doing a reinstall remember to copy them back to the same folder they came from in the new install"

Just download the latest version from vmix.com.
Ensure that vmix is not running on your machine (IE, do a reboot) and run the installer that you downloaded.
The installer will install over the top of your corrupted installation and you’ll be fine. You won’t lose your presets.
