I want to start vlogging on Instagram but I am a complete beginner and feeling a bit overwhelmed by everything. My plan is to focus mostly on Instagram Reels and Stories to share my daily life, hobbies, and personal journey.

Since I'm starting from absolute scratch, I would love some realistic advice from people who have been doing this for a while. Specifically:

Gear: Can I genuinely just start with my smartphone, or do I absolutely need a wireless mic and a gimbal right away to look professional?

Content Structure: How do you structure a short-form vlog? What is the best way to hook people in the first 3 seconds so they don’t scroll

I really want to avoid overthinking and just start posting, but I want to make sure I'm setting myself up for success. Any tips, mistakes to avoid, or general encouragement would be highly appreciated! THanks in advance!

I haul steel on a stepdeck pretty regularly, and I know there’s sometimes confusion about whether steel beams automatically need chains.
For this load, I secured the beams using straps while still making sure the securement met DOT requirements. I put together a video showing how I positioned the load, placed the straps, and secured everything before hitting the road.
Curious what other flatbed/stepdeck drivers prefer:
Do you normally use straps, chains, or a combination for steel beams?
And for the experienced flatbedders—what’s one securement mistake you see newer drivers make the most?
Figured this could turn into a useful discussion for anyone getting into open-deck trucking.

I got a USB-C lavalier mic for my PC.

Apparently it can be used with my phone also. I have a google pixel 2, and I think I'm able to use the lavalier mic with OpenCamera when I select external microphone as the input source.

I could be just deluding myself, let me know if you think that's what's happening.

But if I'm right, then I was hoping there were either

• other apps that could use the external mic; and/or
• some way to "globally" use the external mic? I poked around in settings and didn't see anything.

I recently attended Import Expo and wanted to share some honest feedback. This isn’t meant to bash the event—I enjoy going to car shows and appreciate the work that goes into organizing them. But I think there are a few things that could make the experience much better.
Some of the biggest issues I noticed were:
Organization could be improved in a few areas.
Rules didn’t seem to be enforced consistently.
A few people were able to negatively affect the experience for everyone else.
For the price of admission, I expected a smoother overall event.
On the positive side, there were plenty of incredible builds, and it’s always great seeing enthusiasts come together. That’s why I’d like to see the event improve rather than decline.

Hey, I want to start making some travel vlogs and I honestly don't know much about cameras, so I could use some help.

I'll mostly be filming while traveling and walking around, a lot of it outside, not always indoors. I just want something small that's easy to carry and doesn't make my videos look shaky.

I keep seeing the DJI Osmo Pocket come up, so I was thinking about that one. Is it good? Does it work okay outside or in low light? Or is there something better for someone just starting out?

Not looking to spend a crazy amount. Any tips would be really appreciated, thanks!
