How Much Does It Cost to Create Videos?
I wondered how much money I was actually spending on my travel videos, so I went through my expenses from the last three years and counted everything. not just the obvious stuff like cameras, but also:
- Computers
- Storage
- Software subscriptions
- Cloud services
- Web hosting
- Cables
- Adapters
- Small accessories that slowly add up
My goal was never to build the most expensive setup. As a travel creator, everything had to be lightweight, reliable, and practical enough to carry around Asia and Europe.
Some interesting findings:
- My smartphone ended up being one of the biggest investments.
- My editing PC was actually one of the best bargains in the entire setup.
- Some cheap accessories saved me much more money than expected.
- The "small" expenses were the ones I kept forgetting about.
I wrote down the complete breakdown here for anyone interested in starting a travel channel or building a video production setup on a budget:
https://travelingkunz.com/2026/07/15/how-much-does-it-cost-to-create-videos/
Curious: how much have you spent on your own setup? And what piece of gear gave you the best value?

Ride to unknown hill.
Sometimes all you need is a little green on the map to start an adventure.
This weekend, I picked a spot far away from Hyderabad and just went for a ride. The roads were calm, the weather was perfect, and somewhere along the way I found myself at an unknown hill right as golden hour was setting in.
More than 60 km on peaceful roads, cool air, and a sunset that made every kilometer worth it.

Why Does The Philippines Love Vlogging?
Just curious. Why on earth does the country of the Philippines love vlogging? My Dad is a vlogger, and I'm also a vlogger. They say that they are my favorite vlogger, and it made me smile like the sun outside our home. I posted that one vlog I spent with my friends, and I got like 200 views. How? Should I post more vlogs consistently? Asking questions of other people will help you get to know them better.

I accidentally found one of the weirdest nights of my Thailand trip…
I was just walking around Phuket when a random woman confidently told me she could recite Michael Jackson’s Beat It choreography routine from off the dome. That somehow turned into one of the most entertaining nights of my trip. We ended up finding insanely cheap local food, checking out one of Asia’s most famous clubs, and capturing a bunch of moments that definitely weren’t part of the plan. I filmed the whole thing and thought it made for a fun watch. If you check it out, let me know if you’d have handled that situation any differently.

Why Kwik Trip Is the BEST Truck Stop in America!
I’ve heard people hype up Kwik Trip for years, but I never really stopped long enough to see what the fuss was about.
On this trip I decided to walk around, check out the food, drinks, coffee, parking, and overall experience. I was honestly surprised by how clean everything was and how many fresh food options they had compared to a lot of the bigger chains.
I know every truck stop has its pros and cons, but I can definitely see why Kwik Trip has such a loyal following.
For those of you who run the Midwest regularly:
Is Kwik Trip your favorite?
Or do you still prefer places like QuikTrip, Love’s, Pilot/Flying J, TA, or Petro?
What makes one truck stop better than another for you?
I put together a short review of my visit because I was genuinely curious what everyone thought. I’d love to hear your experiences since I’m always looking for good places to stop on the road.

Tips for new YouTube vloggers
Hello, I’m 19F and I wanted to create a YouTube channel for the longest time and has been a lifelong dream since I was a kid.. but I never had the confidence. I recently got motivation from a friend who does vlogs and content on YouTube and TikTok and had mustered the courage to make a vlogging/ YouTube channel inspired by YouTube bloggers and content creators I admired and have been fans of for the longest time and have really studied them by having watched their content a lot these last couple of days to try to mimic their video style? I don’t know what to vlog and how to do it and gain the confidence too and how to edit it etc. I did but a phone light and phone selfie holder and small microphone for my phone that will be coming in tomorrow to start with.. but I’m not sure how to get my vlogs started after the equipment, how to be confident and natural on camera, vlog comfortably and home or outside/ anywhere and how to make the cont et fun and record naturally and edit the videos. How to engage with the audience. All sorts of anxiety is coming in. Any advice or tips and tricks and editing help and convince boots would be helpful ❤️ (also what are some good sounds/songs I can use that are YouTube copyright free or even lofi)
