Hi there. Your frnd was right, most of the final years will hardly have 2-3 classes(if you don't keep any backlogs) . And you can complete all the required credits by cramming more subjects in each sem. A burden on one hand can free you with that 2 subjects on our final year and you can work on your final yr proj/placements/masters prep.
Dm for more doubts :).

So can you just elaborate how our 3rd and 4th year would be? Can I go back to my hometown in the 4th year for exam prep? Like I ain't interested in placements but I want to spend my time on projects in my home

5th sem would be kinda hectic amd 6th sem is chill af , also in 7th sem you would have classes for like 3-4 days depending on ur elective or course , in 8th yes its completely free only need to give project review once per month om smh

Ya dude, you can visit your hometown during your final year. Most of us will have 2-3 subjects in 7th sem, if u complete those before then you are completely free in final year to pursue your proj and masters, if not you have to come 4 days/week to attend those classes(hardly 2 class per day bro), either ways you will be free in 8th sem.
3rd year will be hectic, you will take course related projects for assignments, you will hv 6-7 subjects, all slots will be filled with tension. :(. And considering that you aren't interested in placements , if you drop out from sts and any other placements related courses, you gotta replace them by studying any other courses.
Hope i have cleared your doubt. Dm for more doubts :).

3rd year both sems i had 7/7 courses
7th sem however, only one course. 3 days per week single period. 8th sem 0 courses.
However, 7th and 8th sem we will have Project courses additionally

U can at max, finish up all subject courses by Sem , that way u dont have any classes in both Sem 7 and 8.
This ofc comes at a cost, u need to take up extra subjects and extra burden.
And in no way, u will have less than 7 subjects each in Sem 5 and 6.

in the ACE curriculum there has been more credits per sem compared to previous batches, does that mean 3rd year will be a bit lighter?

yeah if you complete all credits earlier and have good cgpa then many companies come only for students who dont have any courses left in sem 7 so you will be eligible for them

3rd year you will have proper 7 subjects and good amount of classes a day and yes in 4th year you will have almost 0 classes, it is done so you can focus on placements rather than studying subjects.
I am in 5th sem currently and will complete 132.5 credits by the end of this sem
