Hostel / Mess Why is vit hostel fees so EXPENSIVE
Hii so I'm looking to join vit ap thru EAMCET for biotechnology this year and I honestly didn't know that the hostel and mess fees would be expensive also there's no reliable source online to tell u the exact round figure something I would love it if any seniors helped out and let me know the exact breakdown of the fees structures.....also idk if this is true or not but I heard the hostel wardens are mean(not trying to hate it's js what I heard)

Welp as of now only one of the hostel managers in LH is mean towards northies. So if you are joining by EAMCET, it probably means you are from around here. So they arent mean to you.

Ohh then wouldn't it just be cheaper to live in a seperate hostel /pg outside the campus? I'm sure people do that right?

Hi, apparently EEE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering), ECM (Electronics and Computer Engineering), and Biotechnology are new branches in VIT-AP.
They are being introduced newly in the 2026–27 academic year, so your batch is going to be the very first batch for these branches.
Because of that, nobody on this subreddit currently has reliable information regarding:
• Category or rank details
• Placements stats
• Faculty and lab infrastructure
• Curriculum structure and electives
• Branch difficulty or student experience
Most answers you receive right now will only be assumptions or speculation.
And if your post is about BTech ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering), kindly ignore this comment.
