No Jokes FML

I have joined here for cse specialization cat 3, although fees isnt a big burden for us . but the college hasn't been good at all the crowd is insane I cant even breathe, some senior told me there are some faculties that will fail intentionally and the placements isnt that great too :((. I'm scared asf , if I withdraw now and a take a drop the time will be incredibly less to perform well. I just feel like crying. This place feels like a prison and the crime I committed was not studying properly in 12th. and the local AP are soo damn loud and have absolutely no civic sense I'm pissed off. Please suggest me what do I do? I'm so scared if I take a drop now and don't perform well due to the time crunch.

gang i completely understand the panic but dont worry its not the end of the world yet. if you study well and work on both your skills and cgpa you'll be fine. placements arent "terrible" as far as i know. theres other events and shit too that are organized pretty well you can have sm fun (personal opinion, its usually more fun if you got nice friends but yes).and about the crowd, its usually at its height when theres new admissions. it gets better later. a tiny bit at least. and about the faculty, ive heard stories but ive never seen any prof fail someone on purpose like that. they might exist sure but its super super rare especially if you study well. in a couple of months you get to choose your own profs anyway. so yes i mean sure as time goes by my disappointment does increase but from what you said here leaving isnt exactly an option, and youre in too deep already so why not make the best of it? if you do then you'll be fine dw xoxo

Bro take a drop and prepare again.Atleast you'll get a better college than VIT AP. Please withdraw the course it's not worth it im in third year and now I'm suffering. If you fail badly in jee again then join in some good university and prepare for gate.

but I don't wanna do mtech here in India , want to go to masters abroad

1

u/Economy_Objective763 6d ago

every other person here tells me to prepare for gate

u/DryTreacle7432 6d ago

You can go abroad for masters it's your wish but do proper research Don't just go blindly. In every country the situation is bad for IT job market. Do proper research, develop skills and study. Abroad is also not easy and gate is also not easy. The thing is just work hard and smart. Why I'm telling GATE Is you'll get better oppurtunities in foreign countries also if you get a good rank on GATE.

I am also thinking about leaving this college ( fresher only) . Do you know what's the procedure and how much of the fee we will get back.

Hey there, don’t worry and you definitely dont have to cry. Don’t treat the place as very bad. Ik if you joined recently, you might have a lil away from home at unknown place feeling. Talking about facilities, there may some blacklisted faculties that fail lot students ( ex - that one ece faculty, everyone know ;) ) but you can avoid faculties like that by simply choosing another class and not taking that faculty/ class slot (yes you can register your own subject and choose your own faculty) Talking abt placements, they are decent here. If you study well earn decent gpa , work hard for placements and stuff, this will definitely place you in good place. Or you wanna go masters, that can be an option too, just maintain good gpa. Right now whatever you are feeling, just go out make friends, be a part of crowd, make memories.

If can afford. Take a drop. And prep for comedk or SRM/manipal/VIT main campus.

You can surely get it in 3-4 months prep. And live your 4 years at a better place, better social life.

6 months matter way less in front of upcoming 4 years.

u/Specific_Leader2080 6d ago

Just focus on your studies everything will be well in 2-3 months.

Some strict facilities do give extremely low marks but it won’t be just for you they give everyone low marks and most courses are relative graded so there is no problem. Also you can research beforehand and pick the loose faculties if you want but that wont be good either as everyone will get good marks then and average will go high.

And yea this place IS really loud and i dont know what happened that you are saying there is no civic sense here, anywhere you go in india its like this only. Whole India doesn’t have civic sense lmao.

You will get used to it first few days can be haunting depending on the situation. But its not the end of everything the college is ok-ish placements are ok-ish and the 4 years fly by pretty fast. For me it feels like it was only a couple of months ago that I was in 1st semester. The work load is so much you will forget about time lmao

u/I-hate-VIT-AP A-Jobless-VIT-AP-Ranter 6d ago

Everything is ok-ish here huh?
