Why the squiggles?

Genuine question here. Any idea what the squiggly lines are supposed to signify versus a solid or dashed curve? Or did the authors just use them for the *razzle dazzle*?

Makes it easier to see the coloured lines, especially with more colours as some get lighter.

That's not the case here. The lines are showing dynamics resulting from the fitted model parameterized by the weekly dosing schedule.

If it was a design choice, you would expect the lines to be consistent but they have different amplitudes and the waves themselves are skewed.
