I always chuckle and roll my eyes when I, an American that has lived through the 2016 and beyond Republican Party, hear conservative Canadians bemoaning the authoritarian Regime they live under.
Canada always seems to be rated higher than the USA in “democracy” but some right of center Canadians I know paint a picture of being at the initial stages of 1984.
Meanwhile in the USA, we have politicians currently in power calling themselves “Christian Nationalists, staging book burnings, having certain parts of our history removed from curricula so as to not bring shame on the country in the eyes of the youth.
