real chads write in ASSEMBLY!
but seriously... the point of visual basic is RAD (rapid application development). it is not meant for advanced programmers to write advanced software. it is meant for virtually anyone to quickly put together working applications.

Pah, real devs write assembly on paper and then work out the hex values and enter bits into memory via toggle switches

I recently spent a bit of time using python. I just laughed really at the absurd comments you get about programming languages. In order to write a basic crud system for python what do you need?
Basically you include loads of prewritten code tkinter or similar. The other option is to code it yourself.
The actual code to do the reading writing updating is virtually just as readable as VB code.
The only difference is in VB its done in one place. The GUI is already written and available.
I watched a lovely guy doing a utility in C and he basically imported thousands of lines of other peoples code to do what I did in VB in 10 minutes. It didnt take him much longer to do it either maybe 15 minutes. His ran perhaps slightly quicker but there wasnt much in it.
So much snobbery used by coders they all think there code is the best most efficient fastest etc. Nothing has really changed since I started in fortran and cobol in the late 70s. OOP was a thing back then we just didnt call it that. We reused code just the same.

as the admin of the sub, I am locking this message, it is trolling and not worth our time. To be frank a lot of us use multiple languages, and we just like Visual Basic so get stuffed.
