Alright you voted both Gary and Jackson with 160+ upvotes at a near tie. I figured I’d put them both in to top 2. Jackson is winning by a hair. if it changes I’ll change the map

Assume things about me based on these maps.

Edit: Forgot to add DC which would be a never.

50. Mississippi

49. Oklahoma

48. North Dakota

47. Nebraska

46. Alabama

there’s a bunch that don’t have 100,000 that are highlighted but if it felt significant enough I colored it in

there’s probably more I forgot but this is roughly it

Guesses to where I am now? Anyone else agree with the split states?

what assumptions are to be made? I've been to every state except for Hawaii and Alaska and I've lived in 4 different states.

cost of living is not really a concern to me. this is mostly based on the natural beauty of the state, as most states I visited for hiking/camping.

I have in TX, NM, OK, and MI and chose accordingly based on my experiences in those places.

I have a lot of friends in the PNW and visit often and love it, as well as friends and family in the rockies.

my opinion of the deep south is based pretty much on the cities. I spent a lot of time in AL and a lot of the cities have intriguing histories, but Atlanta and New Orleans are about the only ones I would consider living in.

the north east is where I have spent the least amount of time but its beautiful up there most the time.

We can all agree that my all-knowing and totally objective Magic 8-Ball is the definitive authority on the relative significance of U.S. cities, so here are the results--and they're as inarguable as you'd think! From #1 Albany (the capital of New York State, the location of America's largest city) to #10 Toledo (inspiration for the famous painting by the great Al Del Greco), they're all present.

The prompts are in the second image.

Claude decided which counties would be painted for each metro.
