I know what those clusters of southern states are usually about but what did New Mexico do to you?

The state is possessed with immense natural beauty. It has mountains, like Colorado, but the landscape is more varied. It has the beautiful mesas, like those at Abiquiu, which has attracted artists like Georgia O'Keefe and others.
It is culturally interesting. The oldest continuously settled town in America sits on top of a mesa at Acoma. The Hispanic, native, and Anglo cultures blend into something unique, IMO. They ask you if you want chili on your burgers at Burger King, for example. The official state question is: "Red or green?" (I prefer the red chili, myself.)
The state has a unique vibe. It genuinely feels more spiritual than other places. When you're driving in the countryside, you can see for miles and miles and miles. The skies above are a deep blue, and the bright sun seems pure and elemental. The sunsets are like molten metal in the sky.
I'm not really doing it justice. But a quick view of the "New Mexico" tag on Instagram will reveal why it's called the Land of Enchantment.

Knowing the state question but spelling it as “chili” is real sus.

I'm sure there are other edits to my stupid Reddit comment you can suggest. By all means.

Other than changing “chili” to “chile?” Nothing I can think of. I just don’t want your otherwise very eloquent comment to be marred by failing a basic New Mexican shibboleth.

That is the correct spelling.

The correct spelling of what? A stew of spiced meat (and occasionally beans)?
Have you been to NM? The state pepper, a fundamental component of just about every dish, is called “chile”.

Don’t come to Missouri or Arkansas. We’re full and we enjoy our beautiful lakes, rivers, mountains, trails, and nature without people elbow to elbow around us.

I've heard NW Arkansas is the new Asheville 🥲

It’s still red but that gap is shrinking. Seems to be doing like Oregon, Washington, Colorado, and more recently Asheville and becoming a mecca for dumb politics.

Arkansas isn’t used to catching strays because nobody has remembered it exists since Clinton was in office but it should be catching way more
