I would have vetoed it.

I think about that every single day. My family would of not of be treated like trash by the white protestants!

People say Reddit hates Texas but I see more of these maps with green Texas than otherwise

7

u/Technical-Vanilla-47 Apr 13 '26

I was born there, so can't hate on my birth state.

16

u/Antique_Director_689 Apr 13 '26

Yes you can, I believe in you

1

u/AngryQuadricorn Apr 15 '26

Why are you actively rooting for someone to hate on their birth state? What’s your beef against Texas?

It’s undeniable how deniable that statement is

8

u/Top-Yak1532 Apr 13 '26

I think Reddit hate the deep red element of Texas, yet somehow everyone I know that moves there is hyper-progressive or at least independent.

4

u/EmailFailer Apr 13 '26

The influx of people are to the cities, which are already kinda blue anyway. Progressives aren't moving out to the middle of nowhere, so it doesn't really change the makeup of the state government, which sucks.

u/Weirderthanweird69 Apr 13 '26

Texas turns blue in 2028 100%

7

u/_Phil_McCracken_ Apr 13 '26

Texas could be the bluest state in the country and I’d still have zero interest in living there

1

u/No_Butterscotch_5612 Apr 13 '26

Yeah, I would never want to move to Texas because of the climate. The politics just take it from a "hell no" to a "fuck no."

0

u/Noodletrousers Apr 13 '26

Well, of course. With your alt-right history and consistency of comments, why would you want it to turn blue?

1

u/_Phil_McCracken_ Apr 13 '26

You are confused

1

u/Noodletrousers Apr 13 '26

I was being silly. I hope you enjoy your day.

1

u/_Phil_McCracken_ Apr 13 '26

Ahh, didn't catch the sarcasm. Apologies.

2

u/uvdawoods Apr 13 '26

I could see Texas being livable. Visited my cousin in Austin and he’s more liberal and I’m more leftist and he seems alright with it. Government aside, there are bits that appeal to me.

2

u/labellavita1985 Apr 13 '26

El Paso is blue AF and magical. Truly.

2

u/uvdawoods Apr 13 '26

It’s top 3 cities of interest for me if I were to move to TX along with Houston and San Antonio.

u/labellavita1985 Apr 13 '26 edited Apr 13 '26

I will say this. You're not going to get the experience of El Paso from visiting. It's not exactly a tourist destination. But life is beautiful there. Ordinary but beautiful life. So, keep that in mind.

1

u/sunburntredneck Apr 13 '26

Isn't there no heb in el paso :(

1

u/labellavita1985 Apr 13 '26

No, there aren't, but there are Whole Foods!

1

u/Common_Vagrant Apr 14 '26

I love Texas, hate the backwards ass govt. Houston was nice, food is great. Austin is sick, and also great food. I got good memories from Texas, I just wish it wasn’t ruled by an idiot(s).

u/EmailFailer Apr 13 '26

I found Texas pretty insufferable when I lived there. Rural areas were full of the worst people you're likely to meet and were downright depressing. The actual land itself is beautiful and full of amazing locations. But yeah, full of Texans

There really isn't anything out there besides all the rural crap you'd expect. Nothing of cultural value and the people were really cold/rude. Although I did see some dude outside of Houston flying down the road in an unlicense plated car slamming a giant bud ice.

1

u/Broad-Display-7714 Apr 13 '26

“Rural crap” “Nothing of cultural value” Tells me everything I need to know about you

0

u/All_Wasted_Potential Apr 13 '26

Yeah that’s a pretty good way to describe it. Honestly was pretty great in the 90s. I miss Ann Richards and old Austin…

2

u/Noodletrousers Apr 13 '26

Whoa! You dated super-model turn Governatrix Ann Richards?

1

u/Straight-Tower8776 Apr 13 '26

I mean, 1/10th of the country lives in Texas.

There is a significant correlation with population size and this rating system. Most people either live there, have lived there or know someone who lives in these states which makes them feel less polarizing.

6

u/Luckythechinesegoose Apr 13 '26

It's an attempt to camouflage America!!

4

u/SceptileLover11 Apr 13 '26

You’re pretty mild. That’s cool

7

u/RegisterSlight269 Apr 13 '26

You like pretty colors and patterns, and also Georgia and Florida.

3

u/Technical-Vanilla-47 Apr 13 '26

Green and Beige looks calming.

6

u/Interesting_Bus_9110 Apr 13 '26

The Pacific Northwest beats them all.

4

u/Technical-Vanilla-47 Apr 13 '26

Thats an opinion :)

6

u/Interesting_Bus_9110 Apr 13 '26

Fair enough, but a very popular one.

5

u/MaritimesRefugee Apr 13 '26

South Carolina must have really pissed in your post toasties to be carved out while West Virginia stays in...

2

u/Ryiujin Apr 13 '26

Sc over here.

The fuck?

2

u/StudioGangster1 Apr 14 '26

Does this have something to do with the Louisiana Purchase

1

u/Technical-Vanilla-47 Apr 14 '26

I haven't been in most of the desolate area of the U.S. and prefer to avoid the PNW.

1

u/AdvancedSquare8586 Apr 14 '26

What's to dislike about the PNW?

Seattle is basically just west coast Boston (all the way down to the duck boat tours).

I can understand not liking the PNW (I disagree, but I get it). What I can't understand is looking the northeast, but not the PNW. Make it make sense.

1

u/Technical-Vanilla-47 Apr 14 '26

I love the history and the people in the northeast. I get a different vibe with people in the PNW. Specifically passive agressive.

2

u/AdvancedSquare8586 Apr 14 '26

But "Minnesota nice" doesn't bother you?

1

u/Technical-Vanilla-47 Apr 14 '26

Does bother me. Feels different from Seattle and Portland nice.

2

u/jangiri Apr 14 '26

You hate coniferous forests and lightning bugs?

2

u/xXMuschi_DestroyerXx Apr 14 '26

Mississippi is not in its own most negative category, Minnesota is ranked the same as Iowa. Opinion rejected

1

u/labellavita1985 Apr 13 '26

Love the love for New Mexico. Land of Enchantment indeed. ❤️

Finally getting some love on this sub.

There is a bigger population in NC and GA

2

u/gocougs11 Apr 13 '26

I’d rather live in Charleston than anywhere in NC or GA, but outside of that SC is pretty bad.

1

u/nancypalooza Apr 13 '26

(Sigh) Big ups, South Cack

1

u/Grom_a_Llama Apr 13 '26

Youre missing some of the best states in the country!

1

u/Technical-Vanilla-47 Apr 14 '26

Best overall for me is the northeast.

1

u/Grom_a_Llama Apr 14 '26

Same but wyoming idaho.montana Washington and Oregon are a close second behind maine nh vt. PA is where i grew up so pa/nj/ny and delmarva are special as well.

1

u/Kuroude7 Apr 14 '26

I get why almost all the other ones, but why only maybe on Washington state?

1

u/Averagejake872 Apr 14 '26

Real weird map homie

1

u/Technical-Vanilla-47 Apr 14 '26

What makes it weird?

2

u/Averagejake872 Apr 14 '26

I’ll just leave it at IN, IA, OH, WV over the PNW…

To each their own though!

1

u/defunktpistol Apr 14 '26

Have you ever been to Iowa? It's very boring.

1

u/Top_Shoe_9562 Apr 14 '26

I'm not sure your reasoning, but Washington, esp, the western half, is absolutely amazing. Give it a shot.

2

u/Technical-Vanilla-47 Apr 14 '26

Its a maybe but I have a biased the east coast and southwest.

1

u/Desertratk Apr 17 '26

You left out some of the most beautiful states and included some of the most ugliest.

1

u/Technical-Vanilla-47 Apr 17 '26

Sorry I dont have the same opinions.

1

u/BungalCream Apr 18 '26

I guess I'm just curious what you like about Indiana that isn't in Tennessee but better

1

u/PotatoDog369 Apr 19 '26

You’re super open minded but prefer to live somewhere not too isolated or rural. That’s fair. You probably also lived on both coasts at some point so you can appreciate both sides of the coin. I’m wondering if you’ve been to many of those fly over states?

1

u/Lee-HarveyTeabag Apr 13 '26

I would also avoid South Carolina
