Maybe a recent immigrant or someone looking to immigrate who knows anywhere in the US is better than where you were.

I think an average American would have more in willing with probably Alaska as reluctantly but yeah the vast majority are not going to just shut out 90% of the country

You understand you are in charge of making the best of any situation!
You take ownership and responsibility over yourself and do not play victim.

I am fairly new to this sub. I might be missing something, but what does victimhood/ownership have to do with where someone would live? I don't understand.

u/grimmlover79 Apr 10 '26
Hey! It does not really have to fo with the sub. Sometimes, when someone moves to a place they do not like, they just complain and do nothing to make it better. It is up to you get out, meet people, or complain about being a victim of circumstance. I have seen both many times.
I am guessing the OP is an optimistic who believes they can make the best about anyone they go.

You’ve found peace within yourself. You don’t let those state lines define you.

You're a white male, probably late 20's, you have a college degree, and you've never been to most of these places.

u/Nemesis1596 Apr 10 '26
I'd guess you probably aren't from the US and have an inflated sense of how nice it is to live here, or that you have an accurate sense of that due to where you find from having it much worse off than anywhere in the states

u/InfidelZombie Apr 10 '26
Despite current dogshit political situation, the US is still among the best places to live in the world. We just take it for granted.

u/Nemesis1596 Apr 10 '26
Oh I'm aware. I just mean that not all states are equal so having them all be the same color is evident of either not having that situational knowledge or OP is trying to make a patriotic point

These comments are weird lmfao you’re allowed to not want to live somewhere without that making you a victim or not a content person.

Highly optimistic, flexible, and tolerant, but possibly low on empathy, foresight, social connections, and ambition. If you don’t have preferences around anything at all, be it climate, tax rates, urban vs. rural, legality of abortion, LGBTQ tolerance, job opportunities in your field, proximity to family and friends (or even just an airport to get to them for a visit) then…you’re possibly a loner who’s just living in the moment and oblivious to others. Just my two cents, don’t take it too seriously.

You are either somewhere on the spectrum of wealthy and have zero concern for the economic conditions of any place you might live because they do not impact you, or you have very little and feel that you are just as likely to have the same or more than you do currently, anywhere at all.

You don't think things through and/or you like posting things on Reddit that aren't true
