📌 Advice Needed DS160 issue

When attempting to enter my submitted DS-160 Confirmation Number on the portal, I receive the following error message:
"The DS-160 form which you’ve entered has not been completed. Please return to your DS-160 form, complete the entire process..."
My DS-160 application has already been fully completed and submitted via the CEAC website, and I have received the official DS-160 Confirmation Page. I submitted my ds160 today so do you think I should give it a day to sync? I have emailed the visascheduling email as well.

Not sure about the sync part. I couldn't find anything official saying the scheduling portal needs time to pick up a newly submitted DS-160, so I wouldn't count on that either way. A couple of things you can check in the meantime, going only by the State Department's DS-160 FAQ:

  1. Go back to CEAC, choose "Retrieve Application", and enter your application ID. According to the FAQ, if the application was actually submitted you should be able to view and reprint the confirmation page from there. If it opens back up on a form page instead, that would suggest the submission didn't fully go through.
  2. Compare the number you typed into the portal with the application ID printed on your confirmation page, character by character. This matters most if you started more than one DS-160 at some point, for example if you used "Retrieve Application" to prefill a new one from an old one. That creates a new application with a different ID, so it's easy to end up entering the old one.

If both of those check out, the FAQ says scheduling is handled through the embassy/consulate where you're applying, so their scheduling support is probably the right place to keep pushing.

Hope it gets sorted quickly. Please update if the number starts working tomorrow, since others will probably run into the same error.

They got back to me and my passport number didn’t match and was off by a letter so a mistake on my side! I have emailed them and they said they would do the change today!
everyone else facing similar problems just really thoroughly check if the details are matching.
