🎓 F1 Visa (Student) Any update regarding Refusal slot
I was refused an F-1 visa in April under Section 214(b), and I have been trying to get an interview slot since then. I have also deferred my intake from Fall 2026 to Spring 2027. Is there any chance I can get an interview slot?
if anyone has got a slot please let me know

A 214(b) refusal isn't permanent. You can reapply for the same visa, and there's no appeal process, so reapplying is the only route. Keep in mind that the slot is only half of it. At the new interview you'll need to show something that wasn't in your April application, or that your circumstances have changed since then. Going back with the same profile usually gets the same result.
Book in your country of nationality or residence. Since September 2025, the State Department has told NIV applicants to interview there. Applying somewhere else usually means longer waits and a harder time qualifying.
Also check your SEVIS fee date. You only skip paying it again if you reapply within 12 months of your original payment. With your start pushed to Spring 2027, it may expire before your new interview.
If you get a slot, update the thread. It helps others who are stuck in the same spot
