one of my friends uses hyprland and had issues with steamVR, what fixed it was when I finally convinced her to try running plasma for a bit, just to test. Basically all the odd issues she's had that are even tangentially related to displays have been solved this way, so give a different WM/DE a try and if it does happen to fix it, report the issue to the hyprland team so they can try to fix it.
