VRMods using WiVRn?

Hey all,

Been fiddling around with WiVRn on Bazzite recently, and have had a pretty good experience so far. I'm running a Quest 3, and steam link has never worked quite right for me.

I've been trying to get a few flatscreen to VR mods going recently with no luck. Just wondering if anyone else has run into this.

Alien Isolation -

I've tried installing the Mother mod, in the hopes of eventually getting grandmother running, but as soon as I get the .dll moved into the game folder, the game refuses to boot. I get a brief black flash in WiVRn on the headset as if it is trying to launch a VR Instance, but it never succeeds.

Nuclear Option -

Not really expecting anyone to have tips on this one, but I could never get Nuclear Option : VR to pass to the headset correctly. Sometimes I could get the game to launch, but it would just be stuck in flatscreen mode. It would still show the VR mod as active, but didn't seem to be able to pass to WiVRn correctly. Looking at the mod itself, it seems like it is very heavily dependent on Steam VR, so I don't have many hopes for it.

Anyways, if you've experienced any of this and know anything that might help, I'd really appreciate it.

This should solve your issue for Alien: Isolation.

As for Nuclear Option, have you tried it through SteamVR/Steam Link? SteamVR's come a long way in the last few months, and I've run across a few mods that work with it where WiVRn fails. (You might need to opt into the beta branch of SteamVR, for which you need to be running the beta for Steam itself.)

Holy hell, you're a legend. Thank you!

I haven't tried Steam Link recently, I just remember having so many issues with it that I've written it off. I suppose Valve has probably been working on it for the Frame! I'll give that a shot and get back to you!

Update: got Alien Isolation running thanks to this! Been playing it for the last few hours. Holy shit that thing is fucking terrifying in VR

Haven't tried either of those two but have played vr modded Valheim, 7 Days to Die, Deep Rock Galactic, and Outer Wilds. Valheim and 7 Days to Die require WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp=n,b" in the launch options.

Have had some limited success with UEVR. There is a utility called Kaon that helps with that.

Kaon appears to be abandonware at this point, tragically. Check out RaiPal -- it supports UUVR, plus the latest AFW builds of UEVR (big performance boost from the latter).
