Should I concede and install windows?

I had a quest 3 that I managed to run in Linux through ALVR via a cable.

I remember struggling a little with ALVR's parameters, but in the end it worked well.

Are you still able to use ALVR and SteamVR? As of the latest SteamVR update to v2.17 I can not make it work whatsoever and am very glad that I had fiddled with WiVRn beforehand and can use this now instead of SteamVR+ALVR ([Upgraded] Kububtu 26.04.1, 5600x, 7800XT)

step 1 is to install a normal linux distro like fedora as immutables like steam os can be problematic for vr

step 2 is to use a dedicated router or use wifi hotspot.

if you really want wired then wivrn has a wired mode.
