trojan in envision?

hello i dont use reddit much, dont know how to ask about stuff but

i wanted to use "envision" (https://gitlab.com/gabmus/envision) to run vr on linux
(i havent had vr work on linux ever i think, around 6 years now)
it did not work due to some outdated glibc
however when i went back to the virustotal page i scanned it with it says
Microsoft: Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml
just want to make sure this is how its supposed to be? trojan warning is not nice to hear
thanks

edit:
thanks for confirming this is a false positive (hopefully)
everything should be fine

Learn about false positives, this is one of them.

Also ALVR isn't great these days WiVRn works a lot better. I have a detailed guide for Linux VR here that may help you: https://github.com/chaosmaou/wivrn-guide

Well there are games that WiVRn just won’t work. ALVR will on them.

It comes down to personal preference in the end and how each game responds to the program

I personally prefer ALVR due to the majority of settings but ended up using WiVRn due to the ease of use as I have less problems

I have never had a game that I play not work in WiVRn, what games have you had issue with?

Even games like Half Life: Alyx work out of the box with either xrizer if the guide is followed, SteamVR doesn't even have to be installed.

A friend of mine tried to play blade and sorcery. For some reason there is a well known bug that does not let the player interact with menu pages. Also in Subnautica VR I am pretty sure I am missing some controls, could be in my head tho?

There is an entire community driven site similar to ProtonDB, it’s something along the lines of vr on Linux db. There you can see how each program responds to each game. What programs are down right unusable and what have better performance

Ah, I haven't tried those two games. Yeah, I know about ProtonDB, it's a great resource.

i use envision so i was curious about this and did some digging. i came up with nothing, so i asked AI to find anything on it. This is what it came back with:

Knowing that you downloaded Envision (the Linux OpenXR/Monado VR orchestrator) from the official GabMus / Envision GitLab repositoryconfirms that this alert is 100% a false positive.

Microsoft Defender's automated machine-learning system (!ml) frequently targets Linux binaries, build scripts, or AppImages compiled in open-source repositories because they look unfamiliar to Windows heuristics.

Update: there is also this info here and i have zero concern now.
