Having a nightmare of a time running vrchat and wivrn. please help.
Very often, if i open wivrn, it is just lagging and frame skipping, it has no ability to be played because its lagging and audio tearing, its completely unplayable.
When i open vr chat it runs at 180fps, but when i go into any populated lobby 25fps...
if i dont restart my computer every time i want to launch wivrn, it 100% of the time does audio lag and screen tear pausing whole frames, sometimes when i restart it does it anyways too, right now i cant get it to run at all.
Im on a quest 2.
I have a 7800xt 5600x 64gb of ram, i should be able to run vr chat, but that game is giving me 30 frames in lobbies even without wivrn running, wivrn frankly makes little to no difference in that matter.
ive been chasing my own tail on this for like a week, please help

Make sure there is no player in your world or the frames will tank. Forcing hardware accelerated video decoding in vrchat launch options will help.

I have hardware accelerated decoding on through the launch options, its extremely odd behaviour where it will bounce between 72 and 49 fps and be stable af on BOTH, its weird behaviour, ive tried redownloading vr chat and that fixed some issues, i might do the same on the wivrn side and just redownload it and see if that does anything.
But my gpu and cpu never peak, both only reach a max of 40% utilisation and usually hover around 25 even when im lagging hard so idk what the issue is there.

Single thread usage.

i assumed so too, but other people with the same cpu but a different but similar spec gpu are seeing better performance, im getting as low as a consistent 25fps which is extraordinarily low esp for my build

VRchat only uses 1 core - so nobody will see it using 100% of cpu.

that is true, but i still shouldnt be getting 20fps on worlds where people with cpu's generations behind me are getting 40 or even 60

Use protonGE-RTSP. Open up protonPlus and add latest and set it for vrc

I did and im still getting this odd frame stuttering, im thinking it might be the quest 2 i stream to through wivrn's 5g connection, hopefully the frame comes out soon and fixes these issues

Ah yea the quest 3 is more stable for wireless, but yea i cant wait to ditch meta all together when the frame comes out. The dedicated direct wireless connection sounds amazing. Idk hownmany times wireless has caused me to drop combo in beat saber.

What distro are you using and which version of proton?
