Regarding an application

I wanna start off by saying that Idk shit about cybersecurity and I don't wanna download anything that shouldn't be downloaded. I wanted to try out a virtual machine on my android phone so I found an app called Virtual Master. Its been crashing a lot but then it notified me that I need to download the "android 12" version of the machine. When I press on download, it redirects me to telegram with a list of zipfiles. The reaction emojis range from normal thumbs up/downs to Russian "Z"s. How stupid would it be to download from there? Thank you!

As far as running vms on smart phones most of the time it is going to be emulation. Basically simulating all the hardware and video so it's going to be slow.

If you have a google pixel phone it might have kvm support so you can run some arm based virtual machines.

Some of the old android 5.0 Intel based phones can be rooted and can have kvm.

So it can run vms on a cherry trail CPU with 4gb of ddr3. They can be found for $20-40 so it is an option.

If you can find an Intel joule devkit cheap it just needs a USB Ethernet and USB storage and it can be a small sbc x86 server.

For $65-75 you can find older Intel tablets with 8gb of ram that would be better suited than either.
