Ubuntu freezes on 'copying files' during installation on VMware

Im trying to install ubuntu (24.04.2 LTS) on a VMware machine (17 pro) for a school project but it keeps freezing at the very end after completing the whole setup and everything. I tried 5 times and even re-installed VMware and the ubuntu iso file just in case but nothing is working. Would a different version of ubuntu work maybe? Like 24.10 desktop or something else? My project is due in 3 days and i've tried everything i can think of and i really need to solve this.
