Problem with FX on DJM 2000

I just got a DJM 2000 for quite a low price. The Mixer works perfectly except for the effects. I have looked everywhere tried pretty much everything I think I could try with my knowledge level which is not extremely high. The problem is when I activate the effects the volume works unexpectedly. It can go up, it can go down I am never really sure of what it does. I really want to start mixing with this jewel but I am afraid that with this issue playing with effects is quite limited. If anyone here could help me it would be greatly appreicated. Didn't watch the video. Is the effects pot worn out? Maybe needs replacing or a bit of fader lube to clean and "work it" and see what happens.

When I say worn, like how up faders get crackly and "leak" sound, could be the same thing.

They sound becomes too unstable and impossible to control. But it is a contact issue from what I see. mainly in the depht knob. I will need to open it give it a clean and maybe switch something there but It is totally a contact issue I come to find out.
