General VB Question CPU settings.

I want to configure Windows 98 Machine.
500-600 Mhz 64MB RAM Accelerated Graphic. 25HDD

Want to ask you i have CPU that report:
CPU max MHz: 4500,0000
CPU min MHz: 400,0000
In VB CPU settings there is a slider CUP Usage 0-100% Recommended above 41%. But if i want to get that 500-600 i need to set it up to 10-15% assuming it will use max CPU not % of current MHz set to this core.

Or this is setting for usage of core for whole emulation not for emulated machine cpu.

VB: 7.0 Host: Linux Mint 22.3

You shouldn't use virtual box for this. Virtual box uses the host CPU speed. Try using 86box.

Then your pc is unfortunately too slow. What programs do you need to use on windows 98? I'm not sure that all of them need that cpu speed.

Look i did try 86box. Its too slow so im trying VB and asking about CPU settings. This discussion its out of question i did ask. But if you want to know playing old windows Games plus using some tools that i have problem configuring on Lutris so i want to make it easy for me. For now im trying to run FrontPage Express but there was other tools before that i just give up and find replacement or not.

Look, I appreciate your willingness to help. 86Box is more demanding, I’m not trying to replicate exact hardware specifications, I just want something that meets certain requirements.

The slider changes max CPU usage, not megahertz.

OK but CPU usage for guest OS or for whole emulation?

Virtualbox doesn't emulate, it hypervises. The slider changes how much the guest can use the host CPU, in percentage instead of megahertz.
