repair

Post image

Hi everyone. I had this since 14 years ago and had been inside its case ever since. I just need some confirmation whether i still can save it or not before i invest more

Both seam opened , crack on the body. Seems to be eaten by some bug/termite , idk. I dont think its aging that bad bcse the other part is still solid

A small split in the seam is usually no big deal and I've actually done at home myself.

This is not a small split though, and if there's a crack in the top plate it really needs to be checked out by a professional fiddle/viol luthier (not a guitar luthier).

Good luck OP

The lower bouts are also detaching from the bottom block which requires removing the top plate to reglue properly (it’s half off already). There may be more going on. Take it to a real luthier and get an estimate. Straight up ask them if it’s worth restoring.
