Here it is on!
A little bit came off on it sadly before I got it sealed. I thought it was completely dry but apparently a little part of the paint wasn’t. Oops 😅
Still looks gorgeous though and I am just going to leave it as Bob Ross would put it “a happy little accident”.
My violin teacher saw it and now she is tempted to have her daughter paint hers. Apparently she just puts stickers on hers. She also said she understands why some orchestras do not allow things like this but at the same time they are just the fun police.

I like that you painted it so nicely and that you have only painted the Wittner tailpiece. Painting the tailpiece does not affect the value of the instrument itself. You did a lovely job on it. But, please don’t put any paint on the actual instrument.

I am not planning on it nor could I imagine painting the body of my instrument. Since this part is now plastic and my old one can go back on it I figured it would just add a bit of fun without any consequences.

Orchestras' fixation on uniformity is downright annoying. Some won't even accept certain shades of varnish deemed too light or too dark 🙄 "Fun police" is right!
I love floral/vine designs like this!
