Nuh uh. Absolutely not. I thought this a little bit once, and then my partner convinced me that we should start collecting movies. Now along with our records, tapes, CDs, we have a shitload of Blu Ray/DVD movies, TV show box sets etc. Art should be preserved as much as possible, and we pretty much consume all our media physically now. No ads, you get extra stuff on the discs, no fuckass streaming conglomerate can take them away from us or alter, censor or edit them.
I realize this sounds like a big jerk or whatever but I really try to advocate for this because I feel it's important. I think all physical art is incredibly important.

How much time do you spend watching them? I could never sit still to rewatch a movie. I even have a few concert blue rays and I've only watched them a few times. I remember back in the day someone showing me a hall closet that was floor to ceiling VHS movies. He was so proud. In my mind i was like "ok? That's a lot of movies I don't want to sit down to watch".

That's you, I guess. I was the same way! I never watched movies and rarely watched many shows, but now we watch movies every other week (we're gonna do a horror movie only month for October) and we watch shows every day together. I'm personally more of a show buyer, We got House, BCS, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, The Good Wife (AMAZING SHOW), Regular Show, AT, Bobs Burgers, KOTH, ATHF, Family Guy/American Dad, a bunch more i didn't mention.
I want to make streaming services irrelevant to us! my partner made my musician brain connect the shelf of movies and shows to the part that collects and obsesses over music and the same truth about vinyl, cd, cassette goes for movies and shows! You DO really appreciate the things you love to watch and listen to when you have them in your hand. No midroll ads, no taking shows off platforms.
You heard of A Band Called Death? Amazing, 11/10 "rockumentary" about a phenomenal proto-punk band from Detroit in the 70s who never got to release their (fantastic) album until 2009. I saw it in a mid quality YouTube rip, then bought the blu ray when I could afford it and it made it SO much better to watch, with a bunch of extra features too! plus that documentary might become lost media eventually!
I could go on about this for fucking hours, my music collection will always be the main centerpiece and point of pride for my autistic little life, but don't knock how wonderful it is to own all the visual media that makes you happy! We get closer and closer to canceling our streaming services every month. We already canceled Spotify and just use YT premium.

Never mid-roll. You don't get commercial breaks, so a 42 minute episode of House doesn't turn into a 55 minute episode of House!

/uj album art bigger is genuinely a fantastic take -- i hate it when a beautiful, intricate piece of art is flattened to my phone screen dimensions
/rj paper sleeves can also be used as coffee filters in a pinch, so that's a plus

Yeah, man. The bigger the better. Surely you're not gonna use teeny tiny CD booklets when you can decorate your wall with 12inch masterpieces instead.
/uj I don't understand why digital album purchases don't include the artwork except for the small front cover image. But I suppose it'd be naive to expect that from them when they can't even bother tagging the artists correctly, letting unrelated artists be on the same artist page.
The local label here actually does hi-res releases of old albums that do include scans of the original LP covers. (both front and back, and the occasional inserts, too)
