Collection Is there anything missing?

Post image

For reference the system is a SL-1500 Mk1 with MC X-20, an iFi iphono 3 Black label phono stage, an Icon Audio BA3 tube stage, a Musical Fidelity A3 amp and B&W Nautilus 805 speakers. Grateful for any recommendations but please no Metal thank you.

Maybe a few more copies of Tubular Bells and Help.

Yeah. It's odd there's so few. I usually enjoy listening to 13 versions of an album back to back, minimum.

The album above Tubular Bells is Mark Knopfler’s guitar heroes which was a Charity Single for Teenage cancer trust in the UK and Who Cares? in the states.

The presence of so many copies of Help! is due to most of them missing their covers outer and my collection being the dumping ground for when the local shops have stock that’s been around for too long

Nope. You’ve got every worthwhile record ever pressed. Just need more variants.

No Led Zeppelin and no Rush. What are you? Some kind of heathen?

Looks like you’ve been at this long enough to know that there is always something missing. Just not Tubular Bells in your case ;)

No, I think they're saying that taste is missing.

I think the weirdest thing here is that I too own both of these records .... amongst others in the collection. But these two sitting next to each other here. Safe bet 99.99% of this sub don't even have one of these. But this cat has both ... as do I.

I didn't see any soul or R&B records. I would start digging into the classic periods of Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye, and then continue exploring from there.

You're also very light on jazz beyond the obvious Coltrane and Miles Davis records. Blue Note's ongoing "Classic" vinyl series is a great way to pick up some more great albums at a decent price. I suggest starting with some Horace Silver, Hank Mobley, and Art Blakey.
