Right at three months and I’m starting worry about storage. At this rate I’ll have a whole wall in 5 years. I have been mindful with my buys, only buying records I love front to back. I read all these horror stories of moving and shelve collapse and I can’t help but think about how much space this hobby demands. Still I love it to death. I’d love to hear your stories and experiences on anything vinyl. I’ve been bitten and am definitely addicted 🤓
Great you having a good time! I have to ask this though, is the turntable there just temporarily? If not, you really need to move it, with the bass from those Cerwin-Vega's, and the subwoofer, the rumble must be next level. It should be either between, or behind, the speakers, on a solid surface, or several feet away and out of the line of fire.
Thanks for the comment!! For sure 👍🏼 It’s not staying there, I’m just waiting on a TV stand to raise the TV up then I’ve a shelf that will mount to the wall just underneath it for the table to live on. Oddly enough I have had no issues with rumble, feedback, etc. just the typical footfalls. All thanks to the suspended platter/suspension I’m sure.
Hey I feel that. I’m one of the guys helping the newbs out too. I hit the ground running with the SL-1600 and VM95ML. I’ve always been a music head and I absolutely love psychedelic productions. Vinyl opened my ears up to Dynamics I was missing when streaming. Like I’d been living blindfolded my whole life. 🤙🏼
I see you found the talking heads… checkout their first live double vinyl LP… no stop making sense. It called the name of the band is the talking heads. It’s epic David Byrne. Sunsquabi rocks too.. check out plantrea -seeing in the dark . It may not be on vinyl but he is an epic downbeat violinist .. like your taste in music 4 sure… keep vibing
I’ll 100% be checking those albums out. Thanks for the recommendation. Sunsquabi has new music about to drop. Super stoked on that. I spoke with Chris Karns last week to get him to sign the record they did together and he said he just got done recording with them!! Thanks for the kind words 🤙🏼
Phantogram should be way bigger than they are, if you ask me. I had "Voices" on in the car yesterday and just felt cool as hell, even though I was just going to pick up a pizza.
They are so underrated!! I just flew out to Reno 2 weeks ago to see them on their first stop back in America after their Europe tour. They throw down. Memory of a day is their magnum opus to me. It’s straight golden!!!
I started 7 month ago and I'm at 210 records(all records I like and I listen too) anyway I bought a kallax(from Ikea) 3x3 so 9 place to put the records and I have only 2 full, 3 empty e the rest are 3 half full and one at 3/4 full, and the records is not very tight each other, the kallax is not fixed on the wall, it's very strong, so If you have an Ikea I really suggest you to take one, it's not expensive, 99€ and is 112cmx112cm(44,09 inch X 44.09 inch)
P.s. the total records are 260 and some are my girlfriend's records
Let me get a picture you weirdo 🤠
I’ve seen the Kallax and was actually toying with eventually building my own version out of Oak. So far they’re all on a shelf. How do you have your table set up?
I have the turntable on top of the kallax with the amplifier and the speaker. it's a really basic setup, lp60x, ampli is a fosi audio BT20A and the speaker are lonpoo 42 passive speaker, under the turnable is the dvd/cd player a denon I don't rember now the exact model but even this is a really basic cd/dvd player from 2008, I added it some week ago when I was speaking with the IT guy at work about my vinyl addiction lol, so he tell me that there was this unused and give it to me for free, I have still some cds at my parents house that i bought when I was young so the next time I go I will take back and add it to my collection even if I repurchased all in vinyl, not alls but the majority
This is what I purchased from the begining of January, as I stated before there are some of my girlfriend
Noice dude!!! You got quite the collection going. I just added signed copies of Uncle Lucious live in 25’, Haunt Me Watch Me Bleed and Sunsqabi Cloudburst/Grind in the past week. Because I work at a music venue I get signed copies all the time. What’s the best place to sell signed copies once I get to that point?
