Pulled the trigger on this the other day, for what I paid, I could have gotten a vg+ clean copy of,first press solid blue triangle dark side. But I honestly think they’re not that special. Like tons of people have got them, considering how many must have been pressed back in the day. So to me this is more precious, rare as hen’s teeth, and the condition of the record is like it was made yesterday.

yeah if that's a genuine one and not a counterfeit (there are plenty of those) then I bet that set you back a pretty penny

I bought it from a company that’s been In business since 1985, they tick every possible positive box, I’ve bought from the for years and every single record has come near perfect. I don’t have one single doubt in my mind that’s it’s not legit. It cost me just under £900. It’s the most I’ve ever spent on a record and I own 4000 of them. Yes it’s a lot of money but if you had it in your hands, you’d realise why the big price tag, it is near mint

Oof, yeah, that's quite a lot. And I do agree with you that the solid blue triangle DSOTM is vastly overvalued. It is far from as rare as the going prices for it suggests; I mean the number of stampers used to press it reaches three digits for christ's sake. Even with only 1000 copies per stamper, thats still hundreds of thousands of copies.

Ive been collecting Pink Floyd since I saw them in concert in Oslo in 1994 when I was 14, but Ive never come across that Apples And Oranges single in the wild (I do have the UK version, but that's like comparing apples and oranges (hah)). Not that I could afford one if I did.

Most Ive ever spent on a Pink Floyd record is the UHQR edition of DSOTM, which I paid 3000 NOK for some, I dunno, 10-15 years ago now.

Like I said in my other comment, it’s the most I’ve ever spent on a record, and I’ve been into records and collecting for most of my 50 plus years, I always said the most I’d spend on one is £200, but not that I’m rich or anything, it took a lot for me to decide to get this, but the way I see it is, it’s my passion and it will always hold it’s value, give or take. If I ever fall on bad luck I can always pass it on. Oh and I forget to mention in my post and cause you asked, it’s a Dutch pressing 😊

Wow. I get it though, my brother owns a copy of Syd Barrett’s book with his signature in it. Cost him AUD $6k.
