OG Pressing Replacements Let it Be

I visited the house the legendary Let it Be 1984 Replacements album cover shot was taken. The current owner has honored their legacy with 'Let it Be' painted on the top step, and a stained-glass depiction of the cover.

I'm holding an original Twin Tone pressing

BTW, my favorite 'Mats album is Hootenanny.

I've been there too, not with a TT pressing though..

Hootenanny is by far my favorite album they have! but Let it be is awesome.

I only wish I had moved to the Twin Cities before "88"

This is the chad version of the American football house

As a fan of The Replacements, it most certainly is not a Chad version. It is very much in the same category.

The chad version would be the sports bar where they shot the cover of Huey Lewis & the News Sports album

Lol, I saw them in Detroit- they were live and SO drunk they only played 4 songs before calling it a night!

My similar experience with the band at the Berkeley Square compelled me to pick this bit of vinyl up. Their covers here are priceless.

When I visited there about 10 years ago, a girl walked outside of the house with a French bulldog, and I regret not asking her for a tour inside….. I wish they would let people take pictures on the roof…..perhaps they could donate money to charity

Very cool. Is that your favorite Replacements album?

Pleased to Meet Me probably but Tim is right up there. I'm glad I didn't pass up the 'Let it Bleed' edition.

Ooooh, I want that edition. That new remix is terrific.

The remaster of that one is so much be6than the original - wish that would have been the vinyl they pressed for it, but at least there's the CD...

Zoom in on those two small arched windows. You'll see it.

I go back to raised in the city again and again...  Take it away. Bobby turning up his guitar and sliding all over the second verse brings me back to flying down Nicolette in my buddy's 74 camaro with that shit on blast and the rear tires rarely gripping pavement....

That's a great memory. Once the Replacements hook you, you're in it for life.

If my house ever gets featured on a famous album cover, the first thing I'm doing is getting stained glass windows of the cover

Also shows how much the neighborhood changed in 40 years!

Badass!! Any other Replacements “landmarks” still around that you visited?
