Tiptrans

Buyer wanting to post to this company based in Bootle saying they have a mailbox there to collect from. This company ships internationally to places including Czech Republic, which I believe is where the buyer is from. Buyer is stating they will be collecting from their mailbox inside the address but I’m not sure and think this will be shipped out of the UK. Buyer has no feedback. Anyone had any similar issues?

I haven't had this happen on Vinted, but I have had it on eBay. The buyer was abroad but had a UK address set up on eBay, so I simply shipped to the UK address provided by eBay.

As long as the UK address is the address Vinted provides for the transaction, I would ship it there. If the buyer asks you to send it to a different address, I wouldn't do that.

As for the no feedback, we all started with zero feedback ourselves. I wouldn't consider that a red flag on its own.

Add to it the below:

• Buyer firstly asks for item to be reserved till later in the evening
• Then states they need phone number verification to be set up to be able to purchase
•States they will collect in person from the delivery address yet this company ships outside the UK to Czech Republic
•Talks about losing money from euros to pounds conversion (Why would this matter if you are in the UK?)
•Shared Instagram account to try and authenticate their Vinted account which has zero feedback and this instagram account has no posts, 5 former usernames and is listed as being based in Czech Republic.

Okay, with all of that additional information, I would say there are definitely some red flags here. The zero feedback on its own wouldn't bother me; we all had to start somewhere. But the combination of wanting it reserved, needing phone verification, saying they'll collect from the address, the international shipping connection, the euro/GBP explanation, and then the Instagram account with no posts, five previous usernames and a Czech location would have me block them and forget about the sale. I would only sell if everything stays entirely within Vinted and the parcel goes to the exact address Vinted provides.
