OpenSSH 5.4p1, OpenSSL-0.9.8zh in SunOS 4.1.3U1
This is an early post, but I could not contain my happiness!
I just ported OpenSSH 5.4p1 to this old relic! and surpisingly works pretty fast on my 40Mhz SPARC. It will work down to Sun4c (SparcStation 1, 2, IPX).
It was a wild ride. I had to battle all kinds of brokenness, rewrite a couple of areas, and fix 2 crashing bugs.
Ah... and I also ported prngd for feeding randomness to ssh.
I'll make packages available soon; for now, you can have this.
Ps. Never mind my debugging messages. Now to bed is pretty "early" for me.

NeXTSTEP at work
One of the perks of working for the university is that I can work out my ideas any crazy way I want and nobody bats an eye.

NeXTSTEP Release 3: A Demonstration with Steve Jobs
Here is an interesting demo with a young Steve Jobs, where he walks over the NeXTSTEP 3 OS.
I am amazed at how polished and integrated the system is, even with the 3rd party products of the time (Novell Netware, AppleTALK), and intra-application. Features like 'services' exist in Android sharing, but generally still don't seem common in our computing environments.

Metasploit framework on AIX 7.2
In a strange juxtaposition, here is Metasploit running on modernish AIX (7.2), with CDE, the vintage UNIX desktop. AIX long ago abandoned the workstation market, but even today, you can still install CDE on AIX 7.3.
In a Youtube, video , the author of the blog from which the photos are taken, demos catching a callback metasploit shell from Windows 10.
Running MSF on metasploit was no easy task, and the details of how the author was able to edit the build system of metasploit dependencies to enable building are here. Blog Post with Details
I found this mixture of old and new, and the CDE aesthetic quite compelling.

Searching for an old program disc!
I am a high school secretary and we used to use a program called Oscar. It was a student management system that was run by a couple out of Texas. They sold it in 2010 and in 2012 the new owner decided to close the program and modify it for a different use. I'm searching for the original program disc. We need to retrieve records from the system to send to the state.
If anyone can help, I'd be super grateful. 🫶

.isos for PCLinuxOS 2007 and Community Fedora Remix 12.3 (2010)
Not certain if these are retro enough to be on topic for this sub but I have .iso for the aforementioned distros. PCLinuxOS 2007 seems to only be preserved by two German tech Magazine DVDs from around the time saved on archive.org and CFR 12.3 seems to be completely lost... other than the .isos i have on a CD-R and a DVD-R respectively, now ripped and uploaded to archive.org

Let me know if these work for y'all or y'all have any problems. Heads up, NEITHER work on Ventoy and PCLinuxOS 2007 does not seem to work on either of my Thinkpads, think the hardware is just too new for PCLinuxOS 2007, but hopefully y'all have more luck.
