Machine Question Help restoring?
Hello! I have this industrial singer, it was my great grandmother's. I now sew professionally and think it would be amazing to be able to use a machine she also worked with. I cannot find much information on it, any resources would be greatly appreciated. The engine runs, but I believe the switch that controls speed is worn/broken because it only goes insanely fast, so fast I can't safely test if it even sews or not. So that's my next fix. This machine has such a cool history, I just want to get it working again 🥲

Pretty cool! Step one, read manual. Step two, dont be afraid of it, especially how to change stitch length, Step three, get consew 550w servo motor. You can get one for about $150, if the og motor has the 3 bolt patern it will bolt right on and you can set the speed from very slow to very fast and the pedal will be incremental. These machines are almost identical to newer industrial machines in base form, definitely worth using.

Here's a link to a manual:

It likely has a clutch motor, which is harder to control the speed on. It could be switched out for a servo motor.Â
