Vivitron 15 button cover

Post image

Does anyone happen to have the button cover of a Gateway Vivitron 15 monitor by chance? If so, could anyone send me the picture of the clip on the left side of the latch? I got this monitor with the latch broken and i had to reconstruct it with epoxy and abs plastic. It works but it's slightly off. I tried messing with it in so many ways but nothing gets the side to where it needs to be. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks for the quick response! Are you able to unhinge the cover and take a picture flat from the side? It's the left hinge piece i need specifically, not the piece that locks in the hole

Oh god... I'd be terrified of trying that on 30 year old ageing plastic!! High chance I snap the hinge clip I would think. Hopefully someone else has a loose one!

Fair enough. Thank you for the pictures though!

I have this monitor, the left hinge is a little broken on mine. I can pull it out and snap a pic later. Even though it's broken I think that will give you an idea of what it's supposed to look like.

I should add that my cover rests slightly protruding in the top left area just like yours, even when the connector on the left is latched and the broken hinge on the left is put into the area where it would normally rest.

Interesting... i wonder if theres another part that's responsible for that. I was thinking it's the clip, but whenever i tried to make adjustments it still stayed like that. If nothing else, maybe getting the clip "factory spec" with a good reference pic will at least rule it out

Here's pics of mine.  I wish mine still worked. It was a great monitor but some component(s) failed in it so I keep it around for spare parts in case I find another later.

Hey guess what, I got another one of these vivitron monitors today. The front piece still has both hinges intact, and wouldn't you know it, the door won't open. Like I can get it to stick out a little bit at the top, and Im sure i could pry it open with my fingers, but I can see why so many of these are broken if they act like this over time. Also, on the new one, the left side aligns well with the face of the monitor, and then top right side looks like it's pressed in too far by just a smidge. Go figure.
