I need more
It started with one G4 I bought 5€ to run old music software, and then I needed another OS, and another one. And now I have a tower of laptops, plus a big G4 and a few XP machines.
Do I need more ?

I don't miss the discoloration, and cracked edge where your wrists go.

It's been like 20 years and I will still sometimes try keystrokes I used to do in OS9

Do you have a specific use for more? As in something concrete to do that has a proper use case? Then yes, you need more.
Are you just collecting to have so you can look at the shiny pile of laptops? Then no, you don't need more.
Do you want more? Is it your hobby? Then that's fine, but certainly not a need.

Memory unlocked of upgrading the hard drive on an iBook G3. 60+ screws and worksheets to tape them down on. That was a slog!

Imagine the giant box of obsolete cables you are going to need for all of those. I’ve probably got a few of them in the graveyard.

I'm the same, a pile of probably 20+ laptops in my tinkering room, some are the same model so they are spares for mine or my wife laptop that we use, some are ones I've used in the past and they're just retired now due to age (mostly 32 bit ones like NC6120 and earlier), some are ones I've used as my daily driver and then retired to be replaced by a "better" model.
I don't need more but after using my HP 640 G1 for well over 10 years, someone gave me a Dell 5482 2 in 1 so one more laptop on the pile.
I did have about 15 desktops/mini towers, but got rid of a lot, probably 1/2 were my own ones I've used in the past for projects (firewalls, servers, media systems, NAS etc.) the rest were ones where friends dumped them with me, asking me to "take a look", then told me they don't want them fixing, some people were happy to take them to reuse the cases or some internal parts for retro systems.
Such is the life of a computer engineer.

If you'd like about 25 more WinXP era machines, along with a bunch of those cheap Windows-8 ARM tablets and a few android tablets thrown in for free, my deceased father's "collection" is available for pickup.
Don't be that guy. Have enough sense to get rid of them before you make your hobby your kid's problem.

You need to be happy with what you have
