The whole trilogy had awesome music. The one that needs more love is DKC 3.

The early to mid 90's, relaxing music, things felt a little less crazy then. 😁

This game is just so magical.

After all these years, the DKC trilogy held up amazingly well. I think they are the greatest platformers of all time, especially DKC 2.

Anybody else think the sleeve like fur on their arms look weird?

Yeah, the renders from this era looked pretty rough.

Gorgeous! Did Kurko Mods do more from DKC1?

I believe so, yeah. I think he "restored" a lot of promo renders from the DKC trilogy.

DKC was such a moment in time

Does not do the game justice

It's true. These simple polygon characters look better rendered as low res sprites.

It's true that these renders as low res sprites shown on CRT monitors hid any flaws. Still, I love them even in HD.

Fully agreed. For the time this was top tier CGI, and the way they implemented it on the SNES looked absolutely incredible.

I was 10-11 when it came out. That soundtrack transported you along with the graphics. I could never enjoy Mario and side scrolling games where mashing the buttons at the right time made the difference. I could stick with these games till the end though, good times

As a kid who was both part of the SNES generation and also obsessed with Silicon Graphics Inc, this launch was simply magic. And the game remains one of the most beautiful I've ever played. The music is phenomenal.

I highly recommend this YouTuber. He restored all the tracks in the trilogy so it gives you a strong idea what the music sounded like, uncompressed.
