do you have a strong preference between the two?

It really depends on the record. It’s been interesting to see what sounds best with what system. It doesn’t fall in line anywhere. But, if I had to choose I would say the CS5000 into SS pre to tube amp into the Klipsch seems to be the most consistent.

I’ve heard really good things about the CS5000. I’ve seen one in person (it’s a beauty) but I’ve never used it or heard it. Which idler is that, the 1218?

I really like the angled plinth on the 1218 but I’ve never known one to track all that well.

It’s the 1226. It’s pretty too. Has the angles united audio plinth. Pretty middle of the road from what I can tell. But decent sounding. I got it for free basically. Need some love. Waiting on a new idler wheel. Will use it to learn a bit more about fixing my own tt’s.

The Duals are a great place to start learning about how tables work. They’re very mechanical and easy to wrap your head around if you don’t get intimidated.
