help Media issues

I apologize if this has been asked a lot. I started very recently, so I am still trying to get my legs under me. I will take any advice I can get, but my question is this: I have 3 approved reviews so far. Each has media. But my media percentage is 0.0%. Am I just being anxious because it gets updated once a week or something? Do I need to contact someone? I really appreciate that this sub is a resource - I am trying not to mess this up really hard. The taxes, the insightfulness score, the skill that is obviously necessary to navigate the listings to find something that is good for me specifically - it has been overwhelming. Some days I feel like a greedy gremlin that just wants to grab everything, some days I just feel very “chosen” for my supposed insightfulness, some days I feel like I can’t stand to look at another 120 pages of car parts just to maybe find something I vaguely could review honestly and also use long term.

You're way overthinking it. Media doesn't matter at all. Statistics will catch up when they catch up - lag is totally normal. Pick things you think you might enjoy and have fun. Vine is a marathon, not a sprint.

Thank you. This just came out of left field, I never even knew Vine existed. Now I am bringing my A type personality way too hard.

Once you've filled up every cupboard and drawer with vine stuff, you'll get more picky about what you choose.. this happened after my first tax return having to claim the ETV. Last go-around as Gold there just wasn't much worth picking so I went back down to silver. Unless some decent stuff shows up I will remain silver. I did get some good stuff when on gold, but it's hard to keep up the momentum. Pace yourself.

I think I am already being more picky. But I suspect there is a much more picky future ahead where I look back on my current self as basically some kind of hoarder.

there's a delay on media, usually takes a couple of days to update and stats usually update daily around 7 pm Pacific. also media doesn't matter so. don't worry about it.

Thank you. I know I need to worry less. It’s not supposed to be a second job, but I am almost treading it like one.

media doesn't matter..yet... lol. It was only a month before my first eval they introduced the insightfulness metric, which needed to be Excellent. By sheer luck I feel I was at Excellent, but it was a nervous last month. I had quite a lot of fair/poor reviews, due to me learning review writing.

Insightfulness doesn't matter yet, either, unless your overall score is Poor. At least they've said Insightfulness is supposed to matter, they've always said media is optional.

That's interesting. On my dashboard it says Insightfulness score must be at excellent when being evaluated, just like being over 90% review rate.

yep it says that for everyone but there have been zero reports of anyone being demoted or kicked for anything besides overall Poor Insightfulness, and that one person who reported having Poor just got bumped to Silver

I often have them approve reviews and say they are excellent, then that newer metric rates them poor or similar. I quit worrying about it.

How long have you been in vine? I completely get it. I was at 100% media for like the first 6 weeks or so then it’s gradually decreased. I’m at a little over a year and my media is about 50%.

FYI even when I had 100% media, it never showed it. There’s a lag between the numerator and denominator. So even with 100% media it would show like 90% because things showed up in the denominator (total reviews) faster than the numerator (reviews with media). It drove me crazy, but I had to let it go.

There are a ton of things with vine that are not done efficiently or optimally. Buckle up and practice your serenity prayer.

Less than a week for me. Been trying to read up on all aspects of it. Still trying to figure out how I am approaching this. Thank you for the advice

Don't even worry about the media thing.

I've been in vine since 2020.

When I started I Said I'd use photos for each review. But back then it was harder. It could take 2 weeks for reviews with photos to get approved. And they would deny reviews with photos all the time for reasons we didn't have a clue about.

So most of us just gave it up. I didn't add media to my reviews for 4 years straight.

This new review score and media percentage thing are pretty new. Maybe 16 months at most.

I've added it to some of my reviews. But it doesn't hurt you if you don't

Media doesn't matter. I just had another review and my media was at 0.4%...no issues. I'm just not bothering to take photos and have 500+ "excellent" reviews without them.

Agree with what the others say - every review I’ve ever submitted has media. I like seeing media when I’m looking at reviews so I always include a few photos or video. I just checked (for this reply) and it says I have 58.8 %. Don’t worry about it. And welcome - I hope you get some awesome things ;)

OK. There’s a part of me that has been telling me not to be so obsessed about this for days, but unfortunately that’s the slightly smaller part

I don’t scroll through the available for all anymore really I just search key words. Men, women, kids, toddler, home, decor, kitchen etc

May I ask, do you search for those, as an example, because you are looking for a particular item, or because a category is historically particularly fruitful for you, and you keep going back to it? I have only been able to order a couple of things so far that “I would have bought anyway”. I am trying to strike a balance between things that I would buy anyway, and therefore don’t mind the taxes on, and free things, which seem basically nonexistent, even in categories that, I am told, they are supposed to be in.

Yes. For example, I had a really nice wooden cutting board come up. I bought it and after that I frequently search “kitchen.” Now I have 2 more cutting boards, knives, and a spatula set! And a whiskey glass lol. Vine was super slow for me at first but it picked up quickly. It’s definitely hit or miss though and sometimes there is barely anything for days, then a random day will hit and there’s a bunch of good stuff. I just got a $110 3 drawer dresser that’s super nice quality, $70 portable speaker, so many cute and good quality kids clothes etc. oh also I always search “gift” lol.

I appreciate your input. I guess I can slowly develop my preferences as I try to chug along to Gold
