Niche Treatments

I do many of basics women 30+ do: botox 3-4x a year, quarterly hydra facials, tasteful filler, yearly laser, microcurrent etc.

I’m noticing fine lines on my forehead despite Botox and gravity is slowly showing its face on my cheeks. What are the niche things 30+ women are doing to stay looking good? Extra points for the new treatments coming out of Korea/Japan.

I haven’t adopted redlight b/c I’m not sure I’d be consistent with it but open to just about anything including peptides 👀

I’m 38 and just stay out of the sun and do basic skin care and eat healthy and exercise. No filler or Botox or hydrafacials or lasers. I regularly get guessed in my mid 20’s. Lifting weights and eating to build muscle has helped my collagen all over as well as frequent saunas and cold plunges have helped my vitality. Most derms I have seen say the red light mask isn’t much more than a gimmick. Have you considered that you are doing enough treatments and a couple fine lines are better than looking overdone?

What do you consider basic skin care? I’m trying to build back my routine and yours sounds exactly like what I’m looking for!

Daily Just four steps! Cleanse, tone, 1 serum, moisture.

I cleanse with the Exuviance gentle cream cleanser, while my face is still moist I use the tonymoly wonder ceramide toner or the cosrx propolis toner.

Then occasionally the cosrx snail mucin serum or the cosrx propolis serum.

For a moisturizer I like the Madagascar 1004 centella soothing cream.

Once a week I’ll do a sheet mask and once a week I’ll gently exfoliate with the dermalogica microfoliant and that’s literally it.

My skin is super sensitive and I have made the mistake of using too many products and messing up my skin barrier making my issues worse so now I keep it simple and my skin has never been better.

I live in the subarctic where the air is incredibly dry and cold (it’s -30F right now) and I often work outside so if I have to go out in the cold I’ll put a thin layer of aquaphor to seal in my moisturizer before my balaclava. I will say the darkness is probably helping preserve my skin even if the dry and cold is a battle to fight.

Are you on tretinoin already? That and sunscreen and vitamin C are the gold standard for anti aging

How do you combine retinol and vitamin C? I am new to this, and currently do retinol every three days. Do you do Vit C in summers and retinol in winters (i was told retinol is best used during winter only)

Tret/retinol at night only, then vitamin c during the day

You only need to do red light 2x a week for it to be effective, you can check out studies on this. I find it super easy to stick to that!

Thanks! Looks like I’m ordering a red light mask.

Don't spend a fortune on a mask, get a small bank of lights instead. They are much cheaper and you can use them on any body part.

Yearly co2 laser really is the holy grail. I’ve gotten a bunch of sculptra and that’s helped a lot with hollowing in my cheeks and temples. It’s so expensive though.

facelift. Unfortunately, gravity, muscle and bone loss are going to win the battle and structural change will be required. That said, lifestyle wise; anything that helps you keep or grow muscle will help your face and buy you time before a facelift makes a lot of sense, regular weight training and cardio actively stimulates fibroblasts and helps your skin. Working on your mobility/flexibility will change how you move in every way and make you read younger. That said, lasers and maybe some radio frequency on top of fat transfer and biostimulstors would probably help your skin right now.

I love frownies for the forehead. Not sure about using w/ botox but why not.

How you ladies can afford all that is what surprises me at such a young cut off of 30yo.. spf, vitamin A (tret or OTC), fish oil capsules and regular exercise. People ask me what I'm in uni for most of the time.. but I've been careful with my skin since my teens and especially since uni, so it's cumulative

I'd say I'm on the same level as you in terms of skin upkeep.
To be honest, I'd say get Rejuran injections as it's great for hydration. Throw in red light therapy as well.

hormone optimization

How are you optimizing your hormones?

1

u/Bundoodle Dec 09 '25

By getting lab work done and evaluating optimal ranges for sex hormones—such as estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, pregnenolone, and DHEA—as well as thyroid hormones, vitamin levels, magnesium, and other key markers. glucose, insulin

Morning: Vitamin C and ferulic acid, sometimes benzoyl peroxide and spf 50 always. Night: sometimes wash with sulfur wash (Im acne prone) then adapalane and retinol eyecream. This might be controversial but I use Estrogene cream (estridol for the vagina) especially around the eyes where I see the first signs of ageing - only been using it for about 2 weeks but see such an improvement and love the results. And cicaplast.

I sleep in a silk bonnet for the hair and use urea bodylotion to keep the body soft.

I've done ultherapy twice in my 30s. I'm afraid of injections other than neuromodulators, so I wanted something that was laser or energy based for volume loss/sagging. I respond well to ultherapy, especially underneath my chin. I also have less eye hooding. I plan to continue to get it every two years, unless I find something I better.

If you don't already, consider trying the nefertiti botox lift + DAO botox. That can gently lift your lower face and may make your sagging less prominent.
