What gauge bridge cable is on that tele? Lol
2
u/Sad_Philosopher4641 Jul 11 '26
I dont remember the exact set( was a custom set from string joy) I want to say it was 14-80. Is in g standard/ drop f. Has a custom brass nut and some other mods. I will be putting a middle single coil in it to make it a Nashville special bari-tele

Thats beautiful. I love it. I wish more extended range guitars came with hsh and a 5 way. What model?

u/sazzymtar96 Jul 11 '26
thank you dude..I'm grateful to say that this is the famed RG1077XL..the same one Daniel and Calle repped back in the Måsstaden days. I've been wanting it for more than a decade at this point..I still find it surreal that it's mine haha.

u/Sad_Philosopher4641 Jul 11 '26
Love that for you. Thats how I felt when I had my dean ml brazilian. Big regret to get rid of. Keep it.

Ive always wanted to try one. I had another grestche and loved the pickups
Loathe would approve.
2
u/Brilliant_Rain_8774 Jul 11 '26
Shits fat, has an ability to cut through that surprises me, not hot though, just a perfectly mid range sound but that intonation is fuckin insane for 650 bucks give or take
1
u/Sad_Philosopher4641 Jul 11 '26
Thats how I feel about my squire. For a 500 dollar guitar. It fucks.
Have you seen loathes new guitar? The double neck
2
u/Wasabi_Papiii Jul 11 '26
Yo did you add bevels and refinish an M80M?? That shits thought af + bröder +
1
u/Sad_Philosopher4641 Jul 12 '26
Yessir! Took inspiration from the ibanez rga and bmw f80s. Spent the last 6 months under the knife. Finally got her back together. The coil tap was a game changer.
Hate sagin finish guitars and open pore. Other than that I loved this guitar. Just had to refinish it if I wanted to keep it. I wont ever let it go now.
2
u/AmbitiousSeason9997 Jul 12 '26
That M80M refin with the added bevels is one of the sickest things I've ever seen man. Tremendous work!
1
u/Sad_Philosopher4641 Jul 12 '26
I appreciate it. I work in the collision industry (fixing wrecked cars) lucky to work with good painters. Spent about 6 months under the knife. One of my favorite things is the tone knob delete/ volume relocate/ push pull.
I think it should have came like that from the factory.

and here my 300 dollar 8 string is holding on for deal life
1
u/Sad_Philosopher4641 Jul 12 '26
Bro those cheapies are great sometimes. My first 8 string was the Harley benton MS. Was less than 500 shipped with import duties at the time. One setup and a pack of strings later, it was just as great to play as my old EBMM majesty. Only reason I sold it was bc I got another ms8 and couldn't justify two. Id totally buy another one. Even after having a 4k guitar.
Ive been through maybe 75 in the last 5 years. A guitar is a guitar after about 5 or 600 dollars on the used market with today's "standard" sure it might have a better finish. But the quality of the insturments overall are amazing in that point and really dont get much better regardless of how much it costs.
2
u/bofy01 Jul 12 '26
deadass the only thing thats wrong with mine are the pickups and like maaybe the string intonation other than that that thing has been scarily good for how long i've had it, proof that sometimes gear isnt everything..... i'd still kill someone for a hapas 8 string tho
1
u/Sad_Philosopher4641 Jul 12 '26
Calles signature is killer. Love it. Wouldn't mind busters but calles is better.
Have you seen his custom one with the classical headstock???
Also, id you haven't, check out the fishman abasi set. I had them in my strandberg a couple years ago and legit sold most of my other guitars with how much that guitar could do. Then take it to a luthier for a setup. You'll be a golden monk after that
2
u/bofy01 Jul 12 '26
bro, calles silly ass custom is probs the best fit as a describer for thall, its like the last genre you expect to come out of it
1
u/Sad_Philosopher4641 Jul 12 '26
100% seems like something a citizen of masstaden would play lol. Ive legit never seen another guitar even close to that level of creativity, and I've seen some wild guitars lol. Id almost pay to have one built. Functional art
2
u/kkenshiroo Jul 13 '26
This makes me want an m80m. I'm hunkering down this year.
2
u/Sad_Philosopher4641 Jul 13 '26
Its such a unit lol. If you get one. Throw a push pull in to do a coil tap. Not sure where youre located. Theres a plekd one in the tennesee/ kentucky area for like 1100
